5 best fruits to build muscle
I’ve gained enough muscle to deadlift more than 255 pounds. And I’ve built it through fruit. Yes, you can increase your muscle mass with nature’s goodness; you don’t need meat to get ripped.
I’ve been a vegan for two years, and have become even more healthy and toned through plants. Specifically, fruit juice. I don’t supplement my diet with any plant-based protein powders. I do intermittent fasting every day and I usually break my fast around 3 p.m. every day with a 32 ounce glass of homemade juice. I’ll have a healthy dinner with my family, usually a giant salad with avocado and other veggies. If I’m hungry later, I’ll snack on a handful of nuts. And I sip water all day long.
Many bodybuilders avoid fruit, thinking it’s too high in sugar to improve their physiques. However, fruit is rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and carbs to boost fitness.
The five best fruits to build muscle are kiwi, banana, watermelon, blueberries, and avocado, according to RawPressery.com:
1.“Kiwi is one of the best fat-burning natural sources. Kiwis contain more vitamin C -- an antioxidant -- than any other fruit. Vitamin C is required for proper oxidation of fatty acids.
2.“Bananas help re-stock muscle glycogen, and halt muscle breakdown. They’re a fabulous source of potassium, an electrolyte necessary for proper muscular contraction.
3.“Watermelon specializes in the production of nitric oxide, which improves blood flow to the muscles, allowing for greater delivery of recovery nutrients and anabolic compounds. Very hydrating, too.
4.“Blueberries contain a huge number of antioxidants to help gain muscle mass. Antioxidants also protect against free-radical attacks, which we’re vulnerable to after weight training. The key to building muscle and strength is recovery; the faster we recover, the faster we grow.
5. “Avocados are the ultimate muscle-building fruits as they are loaded with potassium, and other minerals and vitamins. They are extremely high in fiber, which has been known to help whittle away fat.”
So enjoy your favorite fruits, knowing they’re fueling your body with proper nutrition to boost your workouts, and build your body, too.
